Chilly nights
8th November 2011
Hi Everyone,Well, time flies on in the world of fruit and veg and we've been so busy I've not had time to keep in touch, so, apologies for that.
Anyway I'm sure you've noticed the cold nights and this will soon finish off the remaining English produce so we will be switching over to largely Spanish, however quality will still be excellent.
Satsumas should be in peak season but due to poor returns for crops in recent years many growers have stopped growing them so they are in very short supply at the moment. It could be, before long no Spanish sats for Christmas, which would a disaster for all.
We had the strangest fruit I've ever seen in the shop today, its called Budders Hand and is of the Citrus group of fruits. Apparently you can eat it on salads or cook it with fish. None of the salesmen on the markets had ever seen it before and neither had I. After a bit of searching on the internet we found it and will be uploading some pictures tomorrow so be sure to take a peek.
Christmas is fast approaching and the first trees arrive on 16th November so don't forget to come and visit us to choose that special tree or simply order online for local delivery. Every one is hand picked by myself so your guaranteed a nice one.
The 18th of December will be the last day for ordering Christmas deliveries in order for us to ensure we can find the quality of produce to fill your requirements, so get those orders in early. Orders can be collected up to the 24th of December but please try to order as early as possible as this is a manic time of year for the fresh produce business.
Anyway, as they say in the cartoon world... thats all folks.
Chat soon,
Andy.
