Well time flys and it’s autumn already
We have a full range of pumpkins and squash’s in stock all edible but ideal for decoration in the home or garden too, from 99p to £10.00
Pickerling onions are in demand for those preparing for Christmas
English apples are in peak season now and should be enjoyed while available.
Strawberries are excellent from Holland at this time of year.
Our local rope onions are back and will keep for weeks at this time of year to.
Sprouts and other winter vegetables are at there peak , all local from our regular suppliers
Fresh chestnuts from France along with wet walnuts have just come in
For those who’ve not tried wet walnuts before their a moist nut white in coulour very different from the dried version,
Ideal for pickerling.
Chestnuts easy to microwave or boil or roast in oven
If you have an open fire or log burner just place nearby to roast
However you cook your chestnuts remember to pierce the shell before cooking otherwise they’ll explode like little bombs !!
